No More Broken Hearts

As we approach the holiday season, the need for love and comfort may be desired now more than any other time of the year. For some, maybe you need that comfort while dealing with the loss of a loved one or maybe this year has been hard and you just need a break. You might just need some time to be renewed and refreshed. Well, God is there when you need these things. The Bible says that one of God's titles is "El Roi," meaning "The God Who sees me,” (Genesis 16:13). This means that He has the power to understand your struggle and see you through it!

In John 14:1 [ESV], Jesus tells His disciples, “Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in Me.’” Jesus is saying that yes, it's good to believe in God, but make your belief complete by trusting in Him as well. For Jesus Christ is the one who makes us complete!

Psalms 34:18 says, “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted, He saves those who are crushed in spirit.”

So Jesus is indeed near you when you are hurting.

And 1 Peter 5:7 TPT says,

“Pour out all your worries and stress upon Him and leave them there, for He always tenderly cares for you."

God always cares and maybe sometimes our worries and hurt make us forget that. Well, let this be an encouragement to you that God loves and cares for you because when we are in need of Him and His comfort, He is moved with compassion for us!

The last scripture I want to leave with you comes from Revelation 21:4-

“‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away. "

Though this life is full of troubles, pain, and sorrow, there is a promise from Jesus that He will put an end to our suffering once and for all---leading us to an eternal life of peace without any worry. But the preview of this eternal promise can even start right now, because God is a healer right now!--A restorer, right now! So our hope in Jesus doesn't have to be for just the future but for right now as well.

So yes, this life will have moments of hurt--of struggle and our hearts may be broken but keep in mind that

Broken hearts aren’t eternal–God is.
